What to expect over the next weeks
All Families
June-July
- New families should complete their enrollment checklist in the Admissions Portal.
- July 28: New families are invited to Avenues OPEN, our community portal, to upload health forms, update family profile and sign school policies.
August
- August 11, 5:30pm: Welcome Session for all new families.
Primary Division (Small World through 5th grade)
August
- Early August: Families in the Primary Division receive an email with their class assignment and an invite to schedule a parent-teacher meeting.
- August 9, 5:30 pm: Back to Campus Webinar for all Primary Division families.
- August 12, 13, 16: Parent-teacher meetings for families in Primary Division.
- August 17: Start of school for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
- August 18–20: Start of school for students in Small World through Pre-kindergarten (staggered times).
Secondary Division (6th through 12th grade)
August
- August 9, 5:30 pm: Back to Campus Webinar for all Secondary Division families.
- August 12, 13: Welcome Session for students (including ALLI students).
- August 16: Start of school for students.

Start of school information
We plan to start the 2021–22 school year in August at a 100% capacity, unless the health and education authorities in São Paulo state otherwise.
In our back to campus webinar held in June, we explained the different scenarios you can expect for the start of school, what schedules might look like for each division, and which health and safety protocols will be in place.

School Calendar
Avenues São Paulo's typical school year is full of events—exhibitions, performances, cross-cultural exchanges, information sessions for parents, student innovation and community events. You may find below a year-long PDF calendar with important dates (start of school, breaks and holidays).
Soon you will have access to Avenues OPEN, our community portal. Then you will be able to add our campus calendar to your personal Google, Apple or Outlook calendar to make sure you will not miss any school event!
Style Guide and Uniform
The Avenues style guide creates an identity for students in all our campuses. You may read the complete style guide below.
The Avenues uniform is optional. If you would like to purchase Avenues-logo items, we will soon be sharing our official vendor for this school year.
Technology
Avenues recognizes the power of technology to enhance the learning experience for our students. The technology team aims to work in partnership with our parent, student and faculty community to ensure the success of the technology program.
Students from Small World through 5th grade receive an iPad and students from 6th through 12th grade receive a MacBook Air. Parents or guardians will need to digitally sign a lease agreement before receiving the devices.
Transportation
We are currently not offering bus services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are still in a period that calls upon us all to keep key mitigation strategies in mind both on and off campus. These mitigation strategies or restrictions include avoiding the three "Cs"— crowded places, close contact settings and confined spaces. Once the situation improves, we will surely review our protocols and consider reactivating this service.
Extended Learning
Avenues Extended Learning provides a dynamic portfolio of learning experiences that transcend the school day. Through the Extended Learning Programs, Nursery through grade 12 students may engage in Special Interest Classes, Extended Learning Workshops, Private Lessons and Language Learning while connecting with peers from the entire Avenues community and students around the globe.

Communications
At Avenues, it is our goal to keep our families as well informed as possible while being mindful of the email-saturated culture in which we live. These are Avenues official communication channels and platforms:
- Email: All families are automatically subscribed to receive cyclical communications including weekly Division Head Bulletins, monthly messages from the head of school, and more.
- Avenues OPEN: Here you will be able to access important information regarding the school, update your contact information and manage your communications preferences.
- WhatsApp: We just started a pilot WhatsApp channel to send read-only reminders to families, who can opt out if they wish to do so.
